Working with cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) has always been a source of great pride for health professionals. Above all, because this segment in psychotherapy is generally described as the clinical evolution of academic research and, thus, was born, according to many authors in the cradle of science. Also because it is pointed out by certain Clinical Evidence - a manual that counts the best indications of therapeutic efficacy - as a reference in the treatment of approximately 85% of psychological disorders. Therefore, in a universe of almost 900 different lines in psychotherapy, reaching this mark should not have been an occasional feat. Today, CBT goes hand in hand and dialogues with various branches of knowledge, which inevitably gave it, unless it was more a conduit, making it one of the largest and most important theoretical-practical structures in intervention and one of the leaders in publications among its cousins-sisters of the family of psychotherapies. On the other hand, this scenario was very different a few decades ago. Calling yourself a cognitive-behavioral therapist in Brazil has come at a price. In a period when other theoretical lines governed the empire of changes in psychological clinic, establishing oneself required strenuous work. In true, it was not uncommon, and even, to notice the existence of psychotherapeutic fiefs that called themselves superior because of their so strong and best skills. and was like that claimed the most effective position in managing personal change. To have an idea of the adverse environment of the 1990s, just to mention an example, during the world congress of cognitive therapies that took place in Toronto, Canada, exactly in 1992, In a universe of approximately 3 thousand participants, no more than than 4 Brazilian teachers. In the following edition, approaching held in 1995, in Copenhagen, Denmark, and with 5.000 subscribers, a very different trend was not observed: as only 10 brazilians participated. So, embryonic period until today most of all, a lot has changed. Many professionals graduated from important centers abroad, paving the way for research lines at universities, still others self-taught (perhaps for sure the true heroes), so only for their effort and dedication, carried out a task of propagating the fundamentals of the CBT... And mainly dozens of books written by foreign authors were translated into Portuguese language, while several other publications were produced by researchers nationals. And to have an idea of the relevance of this, today, in Brazil, many more books by foreign authors than properly a few national ones are commercialized, although the old difficulty experienced by national authors, from Brazil, in this sense still have in heart most of all just prospects of prosperity. in this field of cognitive-behavioral psychology, changing the scenario of this theme in Brazilian universities in an impactful way. So It is in this context, with a focus on the contemporaneity of the facts described in this edition, that it becomes one of the most important publications in the scientific field of cognitive-behavioral therapies, associated not only with childhood and adolescence, but also with adults, couples and family all. For decades, CBT has been criticized for not giving due attention not only to children's experiences, but also to the different age groups ahead in forming of this way beliefs and meaning schemes. Although CBT works fundamentally "in the here and now", the influence of the experiences of all these bands in the formation of personal structures of meaning is unquestionable.
