This research work covers the use of activated rice husk as filler, for the production of flexible polyurethane foam. Rice husk, which are natural sheaths, are characterized by high amorphous silica content. In time pass, these rice husk, which normally are bye product of rice milling, are either burnt or disposed off, thereby posing threat to our eco system. With its use as filler, it would: reduce the cost of production of polyurethane foam, making it cheaper for end users to purchase, and also, tackle the challenge of air, water and land pollution this bye product cost to the society.
