Over a decade ago Patrick McBriarty discovered a new focus and fascination for Chicago s bridges. Patrick's first children's picture book, Bridges of All Kinds, is about big, red, small, steel, railroad, and many other kinds of bridges from around the world. He has gone on to create the PTM Werks series, with Drawbridges Open and Close, and Airplanes Take Off and Land, both illustrated by Johanna Kim, which bring excitement about the inner workings of bridges, planes and many other transportation-related machines to a younger audience.
