The Materials Genome Initiative (MGI) is a multi-agency multi-stakeholder effort to develop the infrastructure needed to enable the materials science community to design, develop, manufacture, and deploy advanced materials at least twice as fast as possible today, at a fraction of the cost. This new Materials Innovation Infrastructure (MII) will leverage advances in materials modeling, computing, and communications to accelerate advanced materials design and deployment in the United States across many fields.
